Sometimes a film comes to me and even though I know a significant amount of PBS stations will be – for various reasons – unlikely to pick it up, I nevertheless take it on and try to do my best with it because the topic is something I think people need to know about.
And now I know about nipple tattoos. Thank you for bringing this to my attention…it’s nice to think that women can turn something so painful into something beautiful and bold.
It's really important women know this is an option. It's bad enough they've had to deal with breast cancer, but too often doctors leave them scarred and feeling unattractive. This really does bring me to tears each time I see how the women react to their bodies as works of art.
I had a scar on my right shoulder that was a constant reminder of a bicycle accident I had in 2014, so in 2022 I covered it with a tattoo of a butterfly resting on a plumeria branch (I got the tat in Honolulu) and hibiscus flower. So, this doc resonates with me too.

That’s so cool, Steve, thanks for sharing that!
