A time-lapse is a film technique in which a cameraperson takes a sequence of frames at certain intervals in order to track how an image changes over time.
You have touched on some rather fascinating aspects of the RC hierarchy that was male dominated for so long even with the canonization of female saints, such as Mother Teresa. It seemed to me more of a tip of the miter or biretta than a recognition of equality. The various Catholic orders of priests and nuns also have interesting histories and over the years I had some favorites among the Jesuits and sisters of the Sacred Heart.(RCSJ). Even the liturgy and prayers had something of the mystery of religious faith about them. What was genuine was the heart felt compassion based on the belief that they are "ordained" to serve the needs of others, thus your blessing from the Archbishop. I was unable to reconcile the riches of the Vatican with the sufferings of poverty in so many Catholic dominated countries. I'll leave it at that. Thanks, Kristin, for such a good description.
Thanks, Kristin. Religions are fraught with blessings and burdens, pluses and minuses, assets and liabilities, like so much else in the human enterprise.
Where religions get into troubled water is when they start trying to control and dictate and become too authoritarian for my comfort.
Kristin, enjoyed this, as always. I love reading about the events you've been involved in, the people you've met and the places you've been. Such an interesting life. - Jim
Thanks so much, Jim ~ can't express how much I appreciate the minutes you spend reading my stories and then also taking the time to craft a thoughtful & encouraging response!
I enjoy going along with you to these places and events.
That’s what it feels like. Like I am there with you.
Aww, best feedback ever ☺️
I enjoy learning about the filming process. It's really amazing!
Thanks Leslie ☺️
