Working on American Byzantine came with the opportunity to fly back and forth to Europe several times and my desire to be on location for the remaining American Byzantine shoots in Italy, Istanbul and London was solid and unwavering, despite the changes in my relationship with Martin.
A hole in the wing?!???! Just before takeoff?! What an INCREDIBLE story. And oh-how-we-love that group of five. Just to think. . . they've probably been telling this story for years. . . about the woman who saved their lives so many years ago. WHAT a story, Kristin! And not just a story--what an amazing thing you did by simply speaking up, asking a question.
I did ask my brother if the plane could have flown (in his opinion) with that big hole in its wing. From what I recall, he said "Probably. But it would have been uncomfortable." 😬
Yikes 😳 As a fellow fearful flyer (is humankind meant to hurtle through the air?) I would have sweated bullets, prayed to all the gods and goddesses and the rivets and their riverters, and cursed myself for not speaking up.
PS. With the photo of you in the cockpit, I thought you landed the plane, not “grounded” it! 🤣
Haha, now THAT would have been a great story! That photo was taken during a film shoot that happens in Story Frame 37, a few weeks from now. Fortunately, that was only a helicopter.
You aren't by chance a Taurus, are you? I've always blamed being an 'earth' sign on my dislike of being so far away from it ☺️
I'm a double Gemini, so I *should* love being up in the air. I hate wind, too. I'm told we love the opposite elements, to balance our nature (WTF is balance?)
Incredible story, I'm glad they listened to you. I also discovered yet another reason to be a fan of yours. Everybody knows that Marine pilots are the best of the best! Okay, I'm biased. Enjoyed reading as always, Kristin. - Jim

I don’t like to fly either , but I do if I want to visit my daughter in NH with a straight fly into Boston from AVL 😉 waiting for the next chapter
Holy Moly!! That's crazy! What a great story. I'm loving this!!
Speaking up is BRAVE.
You could save lives... including yours
Thanks Christine, and thanks for the re-stack!

Yup, just ask any Marine pilot and they will be sure to tell you they are the best. And more than once, most likely 😂
Haha, yes.
In fact, one never needs to ask them. They'll just tell you!
The Great Santini.
Ah, yes…flying! What a lovely story.
Well, I'm not sure I would call the end of a romantic relationship and a near-death flying experience "lovely" 😂
Ha, for sure, but it was great reading😊
