Another great frame Kristin. I always admired the talented Tim Russert for his professionalism, style and impartiality. Recognizing there is always some difference, was he basically the same off camera as on? Thanks for sharing. - Jim

Thanks very much, Jim!

I've never heard Tim Russert was any different off camera than on. Unfortunately, I was only on set with him the one time. But I feel lucky for that opportunity. From everything I remember, he was a delight to work with and a good moderator. I still recall the day I read he'd died unexpectedly. I was devastated. They reassembled his office at the Newseum in Washington DC, and I did have the opportunity to visit that and as best as possible, feel his presence in the ephemera on display.

You have all the right stuff in this piece, Kristin and those folks are special people because they follow the same maxims as you do. This, for example: "Note to self: regardless of how you’re feeling, show up and do your best to be pleasant about it." Would that more folks would be as professional to rise above challenges and discomfort to show up. Showing up with your best self is half the show. The other half is having something worthwhile and memorable to offer up to those who are watching and listening. Thanks for another wonderful story.
